Going Green and Supporting the Local Economy

When: Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 8 a.m.-9 a.m.

Where: Fairfield University Accelerator and Mentoring Enterprise (FAME) suite, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield, Conn. **Enter the FAME Suite from the rear of the Fairfield University Bookstore parking garage off of Sherman Street; drive up the ramp to second floor parking. Ramp is diagonally across from 69 Sherman Street.

What: Fairfield Chamber of Commerce breakfast hosted by Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration (FEDC) committee at FAME, a business incubator program that is a collaboration of Fairfield University's Charles F. Dolan School of Business, the Town of Fairfield Economic Development Department, and Kleban Properties. A speaker at the breakfast will be FAME client Daphne Dixon, of Fairfield, Conn., who is growing her eco-minded consulting business 'Conscious Decisions' with the help of mentors from the Dolan School of Business and business community.

The breakfast will focus on collective efforts to support buying local and promoting Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration (FEDC). FEDC is working with the chamber to reach out to local businesses through this mixer and inviting them to exhibit at the celebration - a fun, community event taking place Saturday, April 26 at Fairfield Warde High School. Dixon, whose mission is to educate the public on sustainable and eco-friendly living practices, is also director of the 2014 Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration. "Consulting is one of the services 'Conscious Decisions' provides, and 'Conscious Decisions' is providing consulting services to Fairfield's Earth Day Celebration," she said.
