Image: Fairfield University The Film, Television, and Media Arts Program at Fairfield University will present Cinefest 2014, a student film festival, on Friday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. This event is free and open to the public and will be preceded by a 6 p.m. pre-show event including light refreshments in the Quick Center lobby.

Cinefest features student short films that have been accepted to be screened during the event. The evening also includes the presentation of 13 awards, including the Audience Choice Award, which will be presented after all the films have been screened, and live interviews with the student filmmakers. The pre-show event features red carpet interviews with student TV hosts.

"Every year Cinefest gives us the opportunity to showcase the best of our students' work. They are dedicated creative artists whose efforts seldom receive the attention they deserve," said Mark Scalese, S.J., director of the Film, Television and Media Arts Program. "Cinefest really gives them the chance to shine."
