The Fairfield University Department of Public Safety (DPS) is presenting its fifth annual
Campus Public Safety Officer Training Academy
from
Saturday, July 20, 2013, through Friday, July 26, 2013,
on the campus of
Fairfield University
. This seven-day classroom and practical instruction course is led by trained professionals certified in their areas of instruction and is designed to provide officers the skills necessary to meet the many challenges of keeping today's colleges and universities safe. Enrollment is limited to campus law enforcement officers.
"Through this annual training academy we hope to provide a substantive curriculum for officers that presents current and essential information for the constantly changing demands faced by today's security and public safety departments on a daily basis," said Fairfield University Associate Director of Public Safety Frank Ficko.
The instructors and courses are as follows:
Campus Public Safety Officer Training Academy tuition: $845. Price includes meals and housing. Non-housing rates are available. Students will be provided housing in air-conditioned apartments including linens, meals, instructional materials, and notebooks. Non-housing rates are also available.
