Fairfield University's Bennett Center for Judaic Studies announces array of events for the public

Fairfield University's Bennett Center for Judaic Studies spring 2013 semester season of events offers an array of intriguing speakers. The events are free. A lecture about Jews and Black baseball in Jim Crow America opens the season, which gets underway Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 p.m. Other highlights include a staged reading of the right to free speech play "The Visitor" on Tuesday, March 19 at 8 p.m., and a talk by world-renowned photorealist painter and sculptor Audrey Flack on Monday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. The annual Holocaust Remembrance Service on Wednesday, April 10 will feature the son of the last surviving member of the famed Jewish partisan brothers whose resistance to the Nazis inspired the 2008 acclaimed film "Defiance."

Directed by Ellen M. Umansky, Ph.D., the Carl and Dorothy Bennett Center for Judaic Studies aims to enrich the intellectual, cultural, and spiritual life of the greater community through lectures, programs, and other special events.
