Full-day workshop on presentation skills offered at Fairfield University

Image: Paul Maloney Paul Maloney, Ed.D., a Fairfield University assistant professor who has been a senior manager at several international corporations, will lead a full-day workshop, "Effective Presentations Skills" on Thursday, April 18. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Fairfield University's Alumni House.

Dr. Maloney, an assistant professor of the practice in industrial and organizational psychology, will discuss sure-fire ways to grab hold of an audience. He'll cover the top 10 mistakes presenters make, four key skills for a successful presentation, how to plan a presentation, audio-visuals and handling questions. In addition, participants will be able to practice the skills and receive feedback during the session.

Dr. Maloney teaches in the Applied Psychology program in Fairfield's Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions. His career includes senior management and development positions at NBC, Mobil Oil Corporation, and PepsiCo International, and he has consulted worldwide for American Airlines, Covidien, GE, Schering-Plough, Kodak, Gartner and many other organizations. His specialties include change management, communications, executive feedback and coaching, and presentation skills. He received his doctorate from the University of Virginia.
