Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts partners with National Theatre Live for its 5th season of HD Broadcasts beginning with a major new production of William Shakespeare's "Othello," starring Adrian Lester as Othello and Rory Kinnear as Iago. Broadcasts take place at 2 p.m. (live), and 7 p.m. (encore), on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts. Tickets are $25, $20 seniors, $15 students/children.

"Othello" is Shakespeare's celebrated play about the destructive power of jealousy. Olivier Award-winning actor Adrian Lester ( Henry V at the National Theatre, BBC's Hustle ) takes the title role. Playing opposite him as the duplicitous Iago is fellow Olivier Award-winner Rory Kinnear ( The Last of the Haussmans, James Bond: Skyfall) , who is reunited with director Nicholas Hytner ( Timon of Athens, One Man, Two Guvnors) following their acclaimed collaboration on the National Theatre's recent production of Hamlet , coming to NT Live audiences as encore broadcasts on October 24, 2013.

National Theatre Live is the National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre live from the London stage in High Definition to cinemas across the globe. National Theatre Live, launched in June 2009, currently reaches an audience of over 1.5 million people in 500 venues around the world. Each live broadcast is filmed in front of a live audience in the theatre, with cameras carefully positioned throughout the auditorium, giving cinema audiences the 'best seat in the house' view of each production. This year's schedule will also include a special broadcast on Nov. 17, 2013, celebrating National Theatre of Great Britain's 50th anniversary.

National Theatre Live will broadcast Manchester International Festival's production of Macbeth, with Kenneth Branagh ( My Week With Marilyn, Hamlet ) in his first Shakespeare performance in over a decade as Macbeth, and Alex Kingston ( Doctor Who, ER ) as
Lady Macbeth. Directed by Rob Ashford and Kenneth Branagh, this electrifying new production of Shakespeare's tragic tale of ambition and treachery unfolds within the walls of an intimate deconsecrated Manchester church.

Olivier Award-winning actor Rory Kinnear plays Hamlet in a dynamic production of Shakespeare's complex and profound play, originally staged and broadcast in 2010, about the human condition, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Hamlet returns to cinemas Live in HD as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Frankenstein enjoyed a sell-out run at the National Theatre, and went on to win awards including the 2012 Olivier Award for Best Actor for Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller. Benedict Cumberbatch ( Star Trek: Into Darkness , BBC's Sherlock ) and Jonny Lee Miller ( Trainspotting, CBS's Elementary ) alternate in roles as Victor Frankenstein and his creation. Frankenstein returns to cinemas Live in HD as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations. The Habit of Art, by Alan Bennett

During an imagined meeting, Benjamin Britten seeks advice from his former collaborator and friend, W.H. Auden. They are observed and interrupted by, amongst others, their future biographer. National Theatre Live's 2010 broadcast of Alan Bennett's acclaimed play, with Richard Griffiths, Alex Jennings and Frances de la Tour, returns to cinemas as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the National Theatre of Great Britain presents a once-in-a-lifetime performance, broadcast to cinemas around the world. Nicholas Hytner (Phedre, Hamlet, One Man Two Guvnors , Othello) directs a thrilling evening of live theatre, with rare glimpses from the archive, featuring many of the original actors who have performed on the National's stages over the past five decades. The show will tell the story of the National from its beginnings in 1963 to the present day. It will feature extracts of a significant number of its most famous and iconic productions, with original performers returning with many of today's rising stars. In addition to the live scenes, there will be short films and documentary inserts which will contextualize the plays and the history of the theatre and the events taking place at the times the shows were originally staged.

National Theatre Live will broadcast the Donmar Warehouse's production of Coriolanus , Shakespeare's searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge, with Tom Hiddleston ( The Avengers , War Horse (film), BBC's The Hollow Crown ) in the title role and Mark Gatiss ( Season's Greetings at the National Theatre, BBC's Sherlock ) as Menenius, directed by the Donmar's Artistic Director Josie Rourke.
