Fairfield University MFA graduate to read from her work

Image: Fairfield University flags Barbara Wanamaker, a 2013 graduate of Fairfield University M.F.A. in Creative Writing Program, will read from her work at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10 at the Bellarmine Museum of Art. The museum is located on the lower level of Bellarmine Hall on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Wanamaker, collaborated with the museum on "ekphrasis iii," in which she responded in Haibun poetic form to works in the Museum's cast collection. Haibun incorporates both prose and poetry. Summer visitors to the museum's galleries were invited to view the works and read her responses collected in a booklet.

Wanamaker graduated magna cum laude from Fairfield in 2009 with a major in English and a minor in art history. While working on her MFA, she was assistant editor for the literary journal Dogwood and co-editor of the poetry section for issue six of the MFA program's online literary journal Mason's Road . She has been published in Mason's Road and the journals Spry and Ebullience .
