Fairfield University's Center for Catholic Studies announces fall schedule of free, public events

Image: Fr Allen The 2012 fall schedule of Fairfield University's Center for Catholic Studies features talks on intriguing, topical issues and thought-provoking events that promise to lead to dynamic dialogues. A highlight will be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council. Speakers will discuss such topics as being a Catholic today and why priests are happy.

The Center for Catholic Studies offers engaging programming for the community, especially but not exclusively the local Catholic community. Directed by Paul Lakeland, Ph.D., the Aloysius P. Kelley, S.J. Chair in Catholic Studies, the Center provides an inter-disciplinary inquiry into the intellectual tradition, history and culture, both "high" and popular, of the Catholic Christian tradition.

With the exception of a weekend retreat at Wisdom House, all events are free and are held on the Fairfield campus. For more information, contact Elyse Raby, administrative coordinator, at (203) 254-4000 ext. 3415 or visit fairfield.edu/cs/index.html .
