Image: Timothy Talty Timothy J. Talty, Ph.D., associate professor of electrical engineering at Fairfield University's School of Engineering, is available to discuss the use of robotics in industry, including healthcare and automobile manufacturing, as well as the development of wireless technologies and smart technology (For example, devices that tell traffic lights that a car is approaching or alert you when your refrigerator is running low on milk).

Dr. Talty's experience includes industry (General Motors and Ford Motor Company), government (Naval Sea Systems Command, United States Navy) and academia (associate professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point and adjunct professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn).

At GM and Ford, he led engineering teams that developed innovative next generation telematics and infotainment technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth, human-vehicle interface design). At West Point, he conducted research on signal processing.

His research interests focus on the evolving role of connectivity in our lives - involving the Internet and computers - and imagining a world where everything is connected.
