Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist at Fairfield University Bookstore

Image: John Darnton Pulitzer Prize winner John Darnton of The New York Times will read from and discuss his latest work, "Almost a Family: A Memoir," on Tuesday, April 17 at the Fairfield University Bookstore, 1499 Post Road, Fairfield. This 7 p.m. talk, part of the Inspired Writer series, is free and open to the public and is presented by Fairfield's MFA in Creative Writing .

Darnton has worked for the New York Times for 40 years as a reporter, editor and foreign correspondent. He is the recipient of two George Polk Awards and the author of five novels, including "The Darwin Conspiracy" and the bestseller "Neanderthal."

"Almost a Family," is a deeply personal homage and beautifully crafted memoir of his lifelong chase after his father's shadow, a father he never met who lost his life off the coast of New Guinea in World War II.
