Acoustic singer-songwriter and national folk star Lucy Kaplansky will appear with Paula Cole, one of contemporary pop music's most compelling vocalists, at 8 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2012, at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts . Tickets to An Evening With Paula Cole with Very Special Guest Lucy Kaplansky are $45, $40, and $35.

Lucy Kaplansky's music career began in New York City, harmonizing alongside contemporary folk stalwarts like Suzanne Vega, John Gorka, and Shawn Colvin, with whom she often sang as a duo. She had a successful solo career but temporarily left the musical fast track to pursue a doctorate in Psychology and open her own private practice, although she continued to sing. After returning to recording and performing full-time, Kaplansky's voice and live performances continue to remain in high demand. She's appeared on the CBS Morning Show , NPR's Weekend and Morning Editions , Mountain Stage, West Coast Live, Acoustic Cafe, and Vin Scelsa's "Idiot's Delight." Her 2007 disc, "Over the Hills," is a collection of songs that explore love and the winding road that leads us there. She continues to tour extensively across North America, reminding audiences why she has been hailed as "a truly gifted performer ... full of enchanting songs" (The New Yorker).

Paula Cole is a Grammy-winning recording artist and 7-time Grammy nominee who has enthralled audiences with her soaring, agile soprano. As the first woman in history to solely produce and receive the best Producer Grammy nomination for her work, "This Fire", Cole has broken boundaries with a searcher's spirit. Her music ruled the airwaves and the Billboard charts in the late '90s with hits like "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" which climbed to #8, and "I Don't Want to Wait," a song also used on the television program "Dawson's Creek." She has sold approximately three million albums, and her latest, "Ithica," is her sixth release in a career that spans seventeen years.
