Image: Campus Garden The student club Leaders for Environmental Action at Fairfield University (LEAF) and fellow environmentalists have planned many free activities to encourage the campus community to walk the talk of sustainable living and to raise awareness about our fragile environment.

Monday, April 16

Eco Clothesline: Environmental facts on display all weeklong. Barone Campus Center (BCC) Dining Room and BCC Lower Level (LL).
Single Stream Recycling Mountain: Come learn what you can recycle at Fairfield. Display in BCC Lower Level, all day.
Canvas Bag Decorating: Decorate your own recycled tote bag. BCC LL, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Tuesday, April 17

Wear Green Day! Show support for the environment by wearing green.
Petitioning in BCC: Add your name to a clean energy petition to your elected representatives. BCC Info Desk, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Film Screening: "Climate of Change," an inspiring documentary about individuals who think globally but act locally to protect the environment; BCC Mezzanine, 8 p.m.

Wednesday, April 18

Cookies for Comments: Write down an environmental problem, solution or question and get a baked good. BCC Info Desk, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Campus Cleanup: Come to the BCC Info Desk for supplies, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Fundraiser for Campus Garden Bee Project. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The bee project team will be gathering in the BCC Main Dining Room during a special honey-themed menu Earth Day Lunch to spread awareness about honey bees, honey, Fairfield's Bee Project, and to ask for small donations towards the campus hive that they hope to have in place this May. As a fundraising incentive, if any students give $5, the team will paint their name on the hive. There will be bee-keeping supplies on view, local honey to sample, and informational pamphlets about how to get involved with the bees and garden. Please contact Tess Brown or Jesus Nunez with any questions about this event or the following event.
Bee Project Fundraiser & Documentary Screening. Claver Hall, 2nd floor, 7 p.m., a screening of the documentary, "Queen of the Sun - What are the Bees Telling Us?" Join us to learn what all the "buzz" is about.

Friday, April 20

LEAF tree planting and dedication: Meet at DiMenna-Nyselius Library steps, 12:30 p.m.

Saturday, April 21

Beach Cleanup: Meet at the BCC Info Desk at 12 p.m., where a bus will take participants to a Fairfield beach.

Sunday, April 22

Bike ride to the beach. Event to promote this eco-friendly mode of transportation and the University's bike sharing program. Meet at University traffic circle. 12 p.m.
Earth Day Fair: Students are welcome to come for good food, great music, giveaways, and to learn about the new Progressive Students Alliance, a group for the civic-minded and social justice seekers. Oak Room Patio, 3-6 p.m.

Monday, April 23

"Endocrine Disrupters: An Industrial Toxicologist's Perspective" Presentation by Dr. Al Wiedow. Library Multimedia Room. Followed by a free lunch. Noon-1:30 p.m.
"The Future of Our Oceans." Quick Center for the Arts. Presentation by Dr. Stephen M. Coan and Dr. Robert Ballard, Open VISIONS Forum lecture, sponsored by LEAF and the Program on the Environment. Tickets are $45 for the public. For more information visit www.fairfield.edu/green .
