The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts continues its 2011-2012 "Awesome Fun" Series with two spectacular performances by the National Acrobats of The People's Republic of China at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011. The 3 p.m. show is a 60-minute matinee performance with tickets priced at $30, $25, and $20. The 7 p.m. show is a two hour performance with tickets at $40, $35, and $30.

Direct from Beijing, The National Acrobats of The People's Republic of China (China National Acrobatic Troupe) has performed extensively throughout the world. It was the first National Performing Arts Troupe established by the government of the People's Republic of China in 1950. The Company's repertoire includes a myriad of national and international Gold Prize winning acts, such as "Slack Wire" (Presidential Gold Award at the 24th Cirque de Demain Festival in Paris), "Diabolo" (Presidential Gold Award at the 26th Cirque de Demain Festival in Paris), "Pagoda of Bowls" (Golden Clown Award at the 28th Monte Carlo International Circus Festival), among others. The Company's performances have received sensational reviews both at home and abroad for numbers such as "China Soul," "Reverie," "Acrobatic Spectacular" and "Splendid".

Image: Acrobats Based in Beijing, China, the Company owns and operates the Institution for Acrobatic Schooling, Training and Repertoire, which houses over 150 Acrobatic resident performers and more than 500 Acrobatic Students of all ages. Funded by a special grant from the Beijing Municipality, the Company annually invests in new productions and acrobatic science research as well as in the training facilities of the center. With its dedication to the improvement and renewing of acrobatic standards, the Institution for Acrobatic Schooling, Training and Repertoire has become one of the largest acrobatic and circus arts centers in the world.

The Company's evening program includes "In the Moonlight" combining classical ballet and acrobatic hand-to-hand balancing, "Joyful Songs & Tunes" with amazingly balanced spinning plates, "Flying Meteors," a modernized tumbling display based on an ancient Chinese acrobatic act from at least 2,000 years ago, "Drizzling Evenfall" with simultaneously juggled umbrellas, and "Wings of the Wind" featuring breathtaking bicycle skills.

In 2011, the Company makes its inaugural tour of the United States and Canada.

The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts is located on the campus of Fairfield University at 1073 North Benson Road in Fairfield, Connecticut.
