Freshman Lauren Liseth earned her first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week award after starting all four games at the Mustang Classic last weekend.

Liseth batted .500 for the week with six hits in 12 at-bats during the Cal Poly Mustang Classic. She had three doubles with three RBI and scored a run, and posted two three-hit games. Liseth was also nearly flawless in the field, registering 20 putouts with eight assists and only one error (.966 fielding percentage). She drove home two of the team's three runs in the Stags' lone win during the weekend tournament as the Stags defeated Cal Poly 3-1.

The Fairfield University softball team, under Head Coach Julie Brzezinski, owns an 8-11 overall record which includes a 1-3 mark in last weekend's trip to California. The Stags will continue their season on Tuesday, March 29 when they play their first home game of the season. The team will host Providence College for a game.
