Nearly 60 percent of student-athletes named to 3.0 Club

Fairfield University's student-athletes excelled in the classroom once again with 59 percent achieving at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the Fall 2010 semester. In all, 230 student-athletes earned spots in the Athletic Department's 3.0 Club while 122 of those student-athletes were named to the University's Dean's List .

Men's lacrosse led all programs with 26 student-athletes posting a 3.0 GPA or higher. Baseball had 14 student-athletes while men's cross country had 13 of its 14 members in the 3.0 Club.

Women's soccer and women's swimming & diving led the women's programs with the most selections to the 3.0 Club. Women's soccer had 21 of 27 student-athletes on the roster while women's swimming & diving had 21 of their 26 competitors achieve at least a 3.0 last semester.

Other notables include women's lacrosse which had 19 student-athletes in the 3.0 Club. Women's cross country had 15 of its 17 student-athletes hit 3.0 status and 12 of those were named to the University's Dean's List. Men's basketball had five selections while women's basketball had six.
