Image: Maurice Barrow Maurice Barrow earned his first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week honor after helping the Fairfield University men's basketball win three games last week. The freshman started all three games which came against conference opponents.

The forward averaged 8.3 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Stags, shooting 50 percent from the field over the three-game stretch. He picked up his first career double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in the win over Niagara. It was also his second straight game with a double-figure rebounding total, collecting 11 against Army on December 31.

For the season, Barrow is averaging 4.9 points per game, and places second on the team with 4.8 rebounds every forty minutes. He has started the last nine games, and Fairfield has won all of those contests.

The Stags bring an 11-game winning streak into this week's action, the second-longest streak in school history. The 1965-66 team posted the longest winning run with 13 en route to a 19-win season.

The Stags will head south for their next game, a January 14 match up with Loyola University in Baltimore. Game time is slated for 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcasted nationally on ESPNU.
