University partners with CPTV, WNPR, and WFSB-TV to host gubernatorial debate watch

Fairfield University, in partnership with Connecticut Public Television (CPTV), Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR), and WFSB-TV, Channel 3 will host one of the Connecticut gubernatorial debates featuring Democratic candidate, Dan Malloy, and the Republican candidate, Tom Foley.

With the upcoming governor's election less than three weeks away, the two candidates will meet to discuss the critical issues facing our state during a live debate on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m., at Fairfield's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The program is a free, community-wide event that allows area residents to get an inside look at the Connecticut gubernatorial race. The debate also provides an educational opportunity for Fairfield students, faculty, and staff to come together and learn where the candidates stand on the big topics affecting the state of Connecticut. Doors open at 2 p.m. Visitors to the Quick Center for the Arts will not be allowed to enter the auditorium after 2:40 p.m. The debate will air live on WFSB, CPTV and WNPR (with rebroadcasts at 7 p.m. on WFSB News Now Cable Channel, CPTV and WNPR).

Through a collaborative agreement with Connecticut Public Radio, the university's radio station, WVOF 88.5, broadcasts several of WNPR's signature public programs, and the gubernatorial debate is one of many such events that are intended to broaden audience reach and provide more local coverage.
