Two VMA nominees to headline Fairfield University concert: Jason Derulo and 3OH!3

Image: Jason Derulo The Fairfield University Student Association (FUSA) is bringing another star-studded tandem of artists to Alumni Hall on Friday, Oct. 29 for its 2010 concert. Headlining the show are two Video Music Awards (VMA) nominees, Jason Derulo and 3OH!3. Derulo is the first male artist to have his first two singles reach #1 on the Billboard Pop Charts, while 3OH!3's "My First Kiss" has been on the Top 100 for 18 weeks and has reached as high as #9.

The night will open with Down with Webster, a rising band with a similar crossover style to 3OH!3. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $45, and are on sale at ticketweb.com .

Both headline artists come to Fairfield as part of their US tours; 3OH!3 stops between Image: 3oh!3 shows in Ohio and Pennsylvania, while Derulo will round up his national tour at Fairfield's campus.

Students had a big say in selecting this year's artists. FUSA Directors of Concerts, Mike Rubertone and Matt Signore conducted a campus-wide survey of students via e-mail and carefully analyzed the responses from more than 500 students. "It's the students' school and as such it should be the students' concert," said Signore, a senior.
