Dee Dee Myers and Liz Cheney together at Fairfield University Students' Forum and Open VISIONS Forum October 20

Myers and Cheney In a pre-election event meant to illuminate two different political points of view, former Clinton Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers joins Keep America Safe Chair Liz Cheney at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. for the Fifth Annual Fairfield University Students' Forum, co-sponsored by Open VISIONS Forum. Tickets for general admission are $45. This is an Arts & Minds event.

Fairfield University student President Eddie Muñiz '11 (Bridgeport, Conn.) will introduce the speakers and three students will join the speakers onstage to listen to each speak on "The Obama Legacy at mid-term: Which direction are we headed?" and pose questions from varying points of view. Representing three distinct student viewpoints will be Matthew Morrissey '13 (Weston, Conn.) of the College Republicans; Sara Hoegen '12 (Wilkes-Barre, Penn.), of the College Democrats and Steve Bottari '11 (Chelmsford, Mass.) of the University's Ham Channel. As is customary with Open VISIONS Forum, director and professor Philip Eliasoph will moderate and open the house to questions from the audience following questioning by the student onstage.

Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Richard Cheney, is former deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs and an attorney. Myers is a political analyst and commentator and a contributing editor of Vanity Fair .

Access to the Quick Center for the Arts is through the Barlow Road gate at 200 Barlow Road. Special Note: From Oct. 4, 2010 through June 30, 2012, the southern end of North Benson Road (Rt. 135) will be closed to traffic on nights and weekends. Round Hill Road intersects with Barlow and provides access to the Quick Center for the Arts.
