The grant, "Partnerships for Success: State and Community Prevention Performance," seeks to achieve a quantifiable decline in substance abuse rates; demonstrate a capacity to reduce substance abuse problems; and achieve specific performance targets and program level outcomes.

Dr. Susan Birge, assistant vice president and director of Counseling & Psychological Services at Fairfield, said, "This funding enables us to continue and expand our efforts in providing our students with evidence-based interventions to address substance abuse. We look forward to working with faculty, staff, students and community stakeholders in developing integrated and comprehensive approaches to facilitate students making healthier lifestyle choices."
