Jennings Beach Jennings Beach is primed for the summer season, thanks to a group of students in the graduate program at Fairfield University's Charles F. Dolan School of Business.

The group - all members of the student-run Dolan Graduate Business Association - took part in Jesuit Community Service Week by cleaning the popular beach on April 25.

"Cleaning the beach for the community was a service effort that we thought would be really appreciated," said Neeraj Ahuja, an M.S. candidate and president of the Dolan Graduate Business Association. "Fairfield residents at the beach congratulated us for the endeavor."

The Dolan School students joined every Jesuit MBA program nationwide in doing an outreach project as part of the Jesuit MBA Day of Service, an initiative started in 2007. Past efforts have included Operation Hope food drives and partaking in the Make-A-Wish Foundation's 5K "Walk for Wishes."

Jennings Beach Norm Solomon, Ph.D., dean of the Dolan School of Business, said service is an important part of the Fairfield experience for both undergraduates and graduate students. "Once again our Dolan School of Business graduate students have demonstrated that they are truly women and men for others. They are a credit to the program."

There has been tremendous interest among the JesuitMBA Network, a consortium of the programs nationwide, in undertaking the service days.

Myrsini Papoutsis, assistant dean and director of graduate programs at the Dolan School, observed the service initiative reflects the University's Jesuit mission. "Serving others well serves you well. The effort you expend helping others pays off more for you than anyone else."
