Excellence in Mathematics and Science Awards


High School students from all over Fairfield County and New Haven County will be in attendance for this awards presentation.

The event recognizes high school juniors from area public, private and Catholic schools for their outstanding work in science and mathematics.

When: Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at noon

Where : The presentation room in The Kelley Center, on the Fairfield University campus.

Background: E. Vagos Hadjimichal, Ph. D., dean of the School of Engineering, and Susan Hitchcock, director of community relations for Stratford-based Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., will present 34 students from area schools with medals and certificates for their academic accomplishments in science and mathematics at this ceremony.

The recipients are students at the following high schools: Ansonia High School, Bassick High School, Bethel High School, Brien McMahon High School, Bullard Havens Vocational Tech., Bunnell High School, Central Magnet High School, Convent of the Sacred Heart, Danbury High School, Darien High School, Fairfield Ludlowe High School, Fairfield College Preparatory School, Fairfield Warde High School, Greenwich High School, Harding High School, Henry Abbott Voc. Tech., School, Hyde Leadership School, Immaculate High School, Jonathan Law High School, Joseph A. Foran High School, Kolbe-Cathedral High School, Lauralton Hall, Masuk High School, Newtown High School, Notre Dame High School, Platt Vocational Technical School, Seymour High School, Shelton High School, St. Joseph High School, Stamford High School, Staples High School, Trinity Catholic High School, Trumbull High School, and Weston High School.
