Student-led Take Back the Night March to raise awareness about domestic abuse

On Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m., a group of Fairfield University students will participate in a vigil walk around campus to spread awareness about domestic abuse during the annual Take Back the Night March. Led by sophomore Alicia Bissonnette, the walk aims to honor those who have been lost to violence, empower those who have survived, and rally students to stand up against the injustices in society.

bcc The walk, which ties into the University's Year of Activism theme, will begin in the lower level of the John A. Barone Campus Center. Participants will circle around campus, pausing at key locations including the Egan Chapel, the DiMenna-Nyselius Library, the Levee, the townhouses, and the quad area between Jogues Hall and Loyola Hall. During the stops, those who have been affected by domestic abuse and violence will share personal monologues and testimonies.

A reception and a safe space to share any reactions will be held immediately following the walk in the McGrath Commons of the Egan Chapel.
