Hunger Cleanup What: Fairfield University's 22nd Annual Hunger Cleanup

When : Saturday, March 27 at 9 a.m.

Where: Work sites at area agencies in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Stratford, Trumbull and Westport.

Why: Hunger Cleanup is a national day of community service and fundraising in which campuses nation-wide unite to address the problems of homelessness and hunger.

How: More than 500 student, faculty, staff and friends are expected to take part in Hunger Cleanup this year, working in community agencies, parks and beaches to paint, plant gardens, wash windows and do yard cleanups among other jobs. History: Fairfield University's Hunger Cleanup Program eight Gold Medal national awards for best Hunger Cleanup in the country from the Conference on Hunger and Homelessness. Last year, there were a record-setting 650 participants and more than $10,000 was raised. The 30 plus student-member Board works all year to make this event the success that it has come to be.
