Who: Twenty toddlers and pre-school students of Fairfield University's Early Learning Center (ELC), a resource for the study of early childhood development for students in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions.

What: The young students will present individual and collective artwork they have created at the Early Learning Center since visiting the Garbage Museum in Stratford several weeks ago where they learned that garbage can become something useful and beautiful.

The ELC's Community Outreach Director Amanda Solomon said the purpose of the art show "is to teach the children that these items don't just serve one purpose." She continued, "We want the children to experience a sense of pride and of self by seeing others enjoying their work."

After their museum visit, students and their parents gathered up used fruit cups, egg cartons, boxes, magazines and other items from home and brought the trash to the Early Learning Center to recycle into art.

The art show is the culmination of three weeks of creative work. In addition to the art show, photographs depicting the students' artistic process will be on display.
