The Fairfield University Glee Club presents "A Christmas Adventure: Sting - Coldplay Meet Benjamin Britten." Music Director Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M, conducts this traditional concert by the Glee Club. Fairfield University Jazz Ensemble with special guest artist Adam Nussbaum on drums. Bassist Brian Torff leads the Jazz Ensemble. Tickets are $8 general, $5 students.

Rockapella

Friday, December 11 at 8 p.m., Quick Center for the Arts

Rockapella , the undisputed kings of contemporary a cappella music, are back by popular demand with The Holiday Show . Known as regulars for five seasons on the award-winning program "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" the group offers proof of their boundless ability to inspire and attract devoted fans. Close Harmony, an a cappella group from Fairfield Ludlowe High School under the direction of Kevin Cotellese, returns to open for Rockapella. Tickets are $40, $35, $30.

Saturday, December 19 at 8 p.m., Quick Center for the Arts

The New Haven Symphony Orchestra with conductor Thomas C. Duffy brings holiday merriment with "Holiday Pops." Celebrate the season with an enchanting blend of holiday favorites! Tickets are $40, $35.

Young Audiences

Toyland

Sunday, December 20 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

American Family Theatre Productions presents "Babes in Toyland," a holiday tradition for all ages! This charming musical sparkles to life in a delightful adaptation of the wonderfully imaginative classic. The captivating musical and book by Victor Herbert has enhanced the joys of the holiday season for generations. Tickets $15 adults, $12 children.

Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery

September 16-December 6, Quick Center for the Arts

Robert January's figural works: The solo exhibition entitled, "Art & Human Consciousness" will include January's drawings and paintings, as well as his photographs of historic art, which inspired January to paint.

Admission to the gallery is free. The hours are: Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday: Noon to 4 p.m. Closed Monday. The gallery is always open when performances occur at the Quick Center.

The Met Live in HD

Saturday, December 19 at 1 p.m., Quick Center for the Arts

Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher ("South Pacific") directs this new production of Jacques Offenbach's "Les Contes d'Hoffmann." Met Music Director James Levine conducts Joseph Calleja in the tour-de-force title role, with Anna Netrebko as the tragic Antonia and Alan Held singing the demonic four villains. Reserved seating. Tickets are $22 adults, $20 seniors, $15 children/students.
