Alternative Music Series continues November 30 with Kiss Kiss at the Wien Experimental Theatre, Quick Center for the Arts

Kiss Kiss Self described as "a pop band with schizophrenic urges for the avant garde" and "dark orchestral rock music for the slightly demented," New York City based spazzy indie rockers Kiss Kiss released their sophomore album, "The Meek Shall Inherit What's Left," on July 7 via Eyeball Records. Opening bands are to be announced. Kiss Kiss goes on at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 Fairfield University student price; tickets for the public are $10 advance purchase/$12 at the door. The Quick Center for the Arts presents Kiss Kiss as part of the Alternative Music Series and it is included in the University's 2009-2010 Arts & Mind series.

Joshua Benash (guitar, synthesizer and vocals) and Jared Karns on drums formed the Indie rock band. Rebecca Schlappich (violin), Michael Pat Abiuso (guitar), James O'Keefe (bass) complete the roster of musicians.

Though their music is primarily rock in style, it also includes an electric violin that adds an orchestral sound to many of their songs. The contrasts within Kiss Kiss' songwriting and vocals have also been described as extremely frantic at times, yet melodic and soothing at others. This contrasts within Kiss Kiss' songwriting and unusual variety of styles has helped the band music to appeal to a wide audience.
