Gordon Bardos of the Harriman Institute of Columbia University to speak at Fairfield University April 6 | Press Releases

Gordon Bardos, Assistant Director of the Harriman Institute of Columbia University, will speak at Fairfield University on Monday, April 6 at 5 p.m. in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library Multimedia Room. Bardos will speak on "The New Political Dynamics of Southeastern Europe." The public is welcome to attend.

Bardos has written many articles on Southeastern Europe and ethnic conflict including three published in Mediterranean Quarterly: "Containing Kosovo, Balkan Blowback?" "Osama bin Laden and Southeastern Europe" and "The Regional and International Implications of Kosovo Independence."

Bardos also serves as an executive officer for the Association for the Study of Nationalities, the world's largest scholarly organization dedicated to the study of nationalism, ethnicity, and ethnic conflict. He has spoken at the NATO Senior Officer's Conference (2003) and conferences organized by the Croatian Center for Strategic Studies in Zagreb, the Office of Russian and Eurasian Analysis in Washington and the U.S. State Department.
