What:
The Met's third season of the Emmy Award-winning The Met: Live in HD continues with a special transmission of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" on Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. with an Encore Performance at 7:00 p.m.

Anna Netrebko sings the title role of Donizetti's fragile heroine for the first time at the Met, with tenor Rolando Villazón in the part of her lover, Edgardo. Baritone Mariusz Kwiecien is her tyrannical brother. Mary Zimmerman 's hit production is staged as a Victorian ghost story. Marco Armiliato conducts.

The live transmission is directed for cinema telecast by Gary Halvorson ; Jay Saks is audio producer. Host Natalie Dessay was last seen on the big screen as Marie in "La Fille du Regiment" in last season's transmission of The Met: Live in HD.

Using robotic cameras and state-of-the-art technology, The Met: Live in HD captures the action from interesting angles and heightens attention to the narrative elements of both performance and production. Behind-the-scenes features, live interviews with cast and crew, insightful short documentaries and bird's-eye views of the productions offer an unprecedented look at what goes into the staging of an opera at one of the world's great houses.
