Fairfield University School of Nursing's Second Degree Program Information Session next week

Fairfield University's School of Nursing Second Degree program is an ideal one for those looking to change careers into the rewarding career of nursing. The program is geared to people who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field but who would like to become a nurse. It is offered in an accelerated, 15-month format and leads to a B.S. in nursing.

On Tuesday, April 28, the School of Nursing will be hosting a Second Degree Program Information Session in The Kelley Center, on the Fairfield Campus, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. At the Information Session, Jeanne Novotny, Ph. D., dean of the School of Nursing, and Carole Pomarico, MSN, MS, RN, director of the Second Degree Program, will discuss the academic and clinical components of the program.

The demand for good nurses has never been higher, and technological advances have empowered nurses to take a leading role in patient care. Meanwhile, there is a nursing shortage not only in Connecticut, but nationwide. At the event, visitors will have the opportunity to seek academic advisement, register for prerequisite classes if necessary, and learn about the ways to finance their education.
