9-11 Observance

9-11 Observance

American flags will dot the traffic circle in front of the John A. Barone Campus Center as part of Fairfield University's observance of the 7th anniversary of 9/11. An outline of the United States has been spray painted on the green and members of the University community have been invited to place 2,000 American flags today and tomorrow within its borders in memory of the victims who lost their lives on that tragic day.

At 12:10 p.m. on Thursday a Mass of Remembrance will be held in the St. Ignatius Loyola Chapel, with Fr. Charles, Allen, S.J., executive assistant to the president, as the celebrant.

At 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, the University community has been invited to gather at the circle where the flags have been placed for a brief ceremony that will include music by the Glee Club and the reading of a poem.
