New Production of Puccini's La Rondine with Opera's charismatic real-life duo, Angela Gheorghiu and Roberto Alagna, provide the star power to deliver this ravishing romance from the world's most popular opera composer. Gheorghiu plays the kept woman who gambles on true love and Alagna is the man who makes her question the cost of her glittering existence. Nicolas Joël directs the new production of this gorgeously melodic look at love.

Mark Morris' acclaimed production of Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice returns! This complete vision for Gluck, with choreography by Morris and costumes by Isaac Mizrahi, features the artistry of Stephanie Blythe in the title role. The alluring Danielle de Niese is Orfeo's adored wife, Euridice, who inspires the hero to face the underworld for her sake. Music Director James Levine conducts.

Radio Dramas presents Favorite Shows from a repertoire of seven years' work. Presenting audience favorites from all genres, whether it's for the edge-of-you-seat suspense or the outrageous live sound effects (which include people being turned inside out). Don't miss it! Tickets are $25.

Open VISIONS Forum presents Academy and Golden Globe award-winning actress, Olympia Dukakis . This event is a Community Partnership with the Westport Country Playhouse. Tickets are $45.

Films

Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m., the DiMenna-Nyselius Library, Multimedia Room
Director of American Studies Dr. Leo O'Connor , presents "Americans in Post-WWII Europe: A Film Perspective in a Series of Four Films." Dr. O'Connor will introduce each film and lead a discussion after the film. The first film is "Roman Holiday" (1953), directed by William Wyler and starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn, who won an Academy Award for her performance as Best Actress in a Leading Role. Written by Dalton Trumbo, who won an Academy Award for Best Writing, Motion Picture Story. Note: The screenplay was originally credited to Ian McLellan Hunter who fronted for the blacklisted Dalton Trumbo. The Oscar was awarded posthumously to Trumbo's widow in 1993. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Marilyn Cohen: Layers of Time and Memories, A retrospective of hand-dyed watercolor torn paper collage portraits from 1988-2006 . Marilyn Cohen's work is a reflection of collage - layers of lives and families, images and memories. The colors and textures are like the colors and textures in each life. The layers of paper echo the layers of generations that create a family while she creates a celebration of life.

Admission to the gallery is free. The hours are: Tuesday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday: Noon to 4 p.m. Closed Monday. The gallery is always open when performances occur at the Quick Center.
