Fairfield University's DiMenna-Nyselius Library's Top 10 (or make that Top 13) favorite books in honor of National Library Week

It's time to celebrate National Library Week, and who better to ask about great reads than our Fairfield University's DiMenna-Nyselius Library staff. Here's a Baker's Dozen compiled by the staff that includes anything but the usual suspects. There's something for every literary taste, from the groundbreaking ( Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller) to the down-to-earth ( Connecticut Walk Book by Connecticut Forest & Parks Association) to a work by one of our own ( Soul Catcher , by Michael White, professor of English at Fairfield University). Our librarians would love to hear from you, too. "Graffiti' panels, complete with markers, are set up in the library's lobby beginning April 14, 2008 for visitors to share their top books, movies and CDs.

Here in no particular order are Fairfield University's librarians' list of favorite books and newly published books you don't want to miss:

*On Wednesday, April 16, the library is collaborating with the University's Department of Public Safety to "Stuff the Cruiser,' an effort to collect food for St. Charles Food Pantry in Bridgeport. A Public Safety vehicle will be parked in front of the library from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as the drop-off site for donations. Also, on Tuesday, April 15, the campus community is invited to the library at 3 p.m. for cake to celebrate National Library Week.
