Details: The Walsh Art Gallery's Director's Choice Gallery Talk focuses on the Fairfield University Studio Art Program's current exhibition, SALON 2008 . Suzanne Chamlin, assistant professor of Studio Art and her colleague Jo Yarrington, professor of Studio Art, as well as students from the Junior Senior Seminar will discuss the exhibition and the works created for the show.

Featured are works by eleven juniors and seniors who are Studio Art majors and are currently part of the Capstone course in Studio called Junior Senior Seminar . Also presented are selected works by students in the printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and introductory foundation classes. In addition to the Junior and Senior pieces, the show includes works by students in all Studio classes who study Photography with Marion Belanger, Sculpture and Foundations with Matt Blackwell, Painting and Figure Drawing with Chamlin, Foundations, Color Workshop as well as Text and Image with John Mendelsohn and Printmaking and Drawing with Professor Yarrington. SALON 2008 runs until Friday, May 9.

Gallery Director Diana Mille developed this casual and informative series. The public is welcome to the Gallery Talk, which has a $5 admission fee. Those attending may bring a brown-bag lunch.

The Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery hours are: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday, Noon to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays. The gallery is open prior to scheduled entertainment. Admission to the gallery is free. For more information, call (203) 254-4000, ext. 2969.
