The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University presents the internationally hailed folk singer Arlo Guthrie, back on the road in, "Solo Reunion Tour - Together at Last," Saturday, September 29 at 8 p.m. at the Kelley Theatre.

In 1961, a young Arlo Guthrie took to the stage for the first time ... solo; just Arlo, a guitar, a harmonica and a special gift for music. He began a career that has spanned four decades and has won him a broad and dedicated following throughout North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia. In 1969 he appeared at Woodstock Music Festival and rarely toured alone after that iconic concert. The "Solo Reunion Tour..." evolved because, as Arlo says, "Sometimes you just want to do things yourself."

In addition to being an accomplished musician - playing piano, six and twelve-string guitar, harmonica and a dozen other instruments - Arlo is a natural-born storyteller whose hilarious tales and anecdotes are woven seamlessly into his performances. His famous18-minute touchstone 60s song, "Alice's Restaurant," tells an epic story that many have thought was based on an anti-war sentiment. "It's not," says Arlo, "It's an anti-idiot song. So in these times of idiocy, I'm glad the song is still giving people something to smile about."
