Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts presents Moscow Festival Ballet's "Cinderella" April 13

The Moscow Festival Ballet's family production of Sergei Prokofiev's classic ballet, "Cinderella" arrives in splendor at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Friday, April 13 at 8 p.m. There will be a post-show "Art to Heart" Q & A with the company following the performance.

Founded in 1989 under the tutelage of legendary Bolshoi Ballet principal dancer, Sergei Radchenko, the Moscow Festival Ballet emerged as a company that has successfully brought together the highest classical elements of the great Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet companies. This internationally acclaimed company has built a reputation on staging new productions of timeless classics and continues to expand its repertoire by commissioning new works from within Russia and abroad. It specializes in 20th Century full-length ballets such as "Cinderella." And, in an effort to work within the framework of Russian classic ballet, Mr. Radchenko has researched the original choreography and stage productions of several Marius Petipa's classic ballets and incorporates these creative elements in his productions, when possible.

The ballet enacts the realization of Cinderella's own dreams as she travels through the obstacles of wicked stepsisters, poverty, loss and the eventual joy of finding her heart's desire. The rich and colorful costumes and delicious staging make this production an event the whole family can enjoy.
