The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts presents the "Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences on Tour!" world-premiere production of "Alice," based on the book by Whoopi Goldberg and adapted for the stage in an hour-long program by Kim Hines. As part of the Quick Center for the Arts' Young Audience Sunday Series and the ArtsBound Outreach Program, "Alice," which appeals to grades 1-5, plays Sunday, Feb. 11 at 1 pm and 3 pm and Monday, Feb. 12 at 10 am and noon.

Actress and comedienne Whoopi Goldberg's nominal sassy young character, Alice, so deeply believes that being rich will get her a giant house, fun times and lots of great friends, she races to claim her prize when she wins a mysterious BIG BUCKS sweepstakes. With her two best friends in tow--a white rabbit who's, well, kind of invisible, and a card-playing nerd who has a thing for hats--Alice heads into the topsy-turvy neon wonderland of the Big City in a race against the clock. She ultimately discovers the best jackpot in life isn't money or fame at all, but simply the friendships she had all along.

With the 2006-2007 season, Washington DC's renown Kennedy Center celebrates its 15th anniversary of the re-named "Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences on Tour!" By the end of this season, more than 30 tours will have played hundreds of cities in 48 states. These shows will have been a part of the lives of over 2 million children, teachers and parents.

Tickets are $10 for children and $12 for adults. Monday's ArtsBound Schoolday Series tickets are $7. The ArtsBound Outreach Program is co-sponsored by the Greater Bridgeport Area Foundation.
