The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts welcomes New York City actor Joshua Kane in his one-man psychic show, "Borders of the Mind," an entertainment for the whole family from age 10 years old and up. Performances are on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3 pm and 8 pm and Sunday, Feb. 4 at 3 pm.

In "Borders of the Mind," Kane leads audiences through a dazzling demonstration of the powers of the mind. In the spirit of the legendary Doctor X, he identifies those in the audience who possess special abilities and those who will successfully project their own thoughts and tap the powers of their own intuition.

When discussing the mystery of his unerring intuition in "Borders of the Mind," Kane queries coyly, "Is it mastery of reading body language that allows one to distinguish liars from truth-tellers - or is it, perhaps, the same craft for which witches were burnt at the stake?" He boldly emphasizes that in the performance "predictions will be made and proved true and the entire audience will experience simultaneous telepathy." He continues provocatively, "unseen drawings are reproduced, thoughts are plucked from people's minds and spirits are invited to materialize and perform strange feats." And as if all this isn't captivating enough, he promises "incredibly complex mathematical calculations will be executed in the blink of an eye!"

Kane is an international touring artist whose original works include "Gothic at Midnight," his award-winning tribute to the masters of the Macabre; his one-man adaptation of H.G. Wells' immortal classic, "The Time Machine"; "A Force of Nature: or How I survived My Jewish American Family" for the 92nd Street Y's Oral Tradition Series; "Shakespeare's Murderers, Madmen and Kings"; and the hilarious celebration and send-up of the holiday season, "You Killed My Xmas Tree!"

Kane has appeared on WNYC, New York Public Radio's "Radio Lab," as Robert Louis Stevenson, the literary teller of tales, in the world premiere of the radio play, "The Little People" which is based on the author's writings. His career as a voice-over artist includes commercial spots for the Vienna Boys' Choir, Nickelodeon's Jimmy Neutron video game and Comcast's "Voice of God."
