"Willy Wonka" comes to Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts

Oompa Loompas abound as "Willy Wonka" takes the stage at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 1 and 3 p.m. This action-packed show, based on Roald Dahl's classic "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," is a part of the Washington, D.C.-based Kennedy Center Imagination Celebration on Tour.

Image: Willy Wonka The inimitable Mr. Wonka leads Charlie and his fellow golden ticketholders through a labyrinth of candy, giggles and more than a few life lessons in this show featuring live actors, puppets and memorable songs sure to have the entire family humming.

Suitable for children in grades 1 through 5, "Willy Wonka" features music and lyrics from Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse. Bricusse adapted the book for the stage with Tim McDonald.

Now in its 13th season, the Kennedy Center's Imagination Celebration on Tour program brings the professionalism and talent associated with the national center for the performing arts to families around the country.
