Young writers hone their skills at Fairfield University workshop

What: The Connecticut Writing Project at Fairfield University will host Young Writers Day, a conference for middle school and high school writers and their teachers. With the revised SATs including an essay section and schools turning new attention to writing, in part, to improve test scores, the day-long program will offer workshops in fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, memoir, drama, short story and screenwriting. Public and parochial school students and teachers from Bridgeport, Norwalk, Greenwich, Fairfield and Trumbull will attend. State resident Lot Therrio, a professional storyteller and psychotherapist, will deliver the keynote address at 9:15 a.m.

When: The program runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9
