The popular Summer Festival Chorus of Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts will sing an interesting international program, entitled "Hot Summer Sounds of the World," on Saturday, Aug. 14. The 11th annual concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Quick Center's Kelley Auditorium.

This year's eclectic program includes the works of British composer John Rutter, Tomás Luis Vittoria of Spain, David Fanshawe and many others. Carole Ann Maxwell, director of Choral and Liturgical Music at Fairfield University, will once again lead the group through the varied selections.

"'Hot Summer Sounds of the World' will be an exciting and innovative concert of music generated from all points of the globe," Maxwell said. "The fascinating rhythms and heart-pounding drum beats will be heard in African selections, as well as the percussive and exciting sounds of Cuban jazz music."

The program also includes music from New Zealand and contemporary arrangements of American folksongs.

Tickets are $15, $12 for senior citizens and children. For tickets, call the Quick Center box office at (203) 254-4010 or toll free at 1-877-ARTS-396. For more information, visit the website, www.quickcenter.com.
