Barnes & Noble in Westport to host Fairfield University professor for book reading and presentation of Spanish stories

Robert M. Fedorchek

Adults and children alike are invited to join Robert M. Fedorchek, Ph.D., to get lost in their imaginations on Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Westport. A Fairfield resident and professor of Modern Languages and Literatures at Fairfield University, Dr. Fedorchek will present "The Garden with Seven Gates," a compilation of 15 stories, fables, and fantasy tales that educate, captivate, and enchant.

Translated from the original Spanish version by Concha Castroviejo, the stories explore universal themes of hope, love, and fear while teaching moral lessons and charming readers. A book that both adults and children can appreciate, "The Garden with Seven Gates" introduces tales written by an influential Spanish author to the imaginations of English-speaking readers.

The Garden with Seven Gates Dr. Fedorchek received his Master's degree in Spanish in 1964 and his Ph.D. in romance languages in 1966 from the University of Connecticut. He has already published 11 books translated from 19th century Spanish authors. "The Garden with Seven Gates" marks the debut of his work in translating 20th-century literature.

Dr. Fedorchek will be available for book signings following the presentation.
