Fairfield University cites Elena Carrington for academic achievement in Judaic Studies

Elena A. Carrington of Waterbury, Conn., who graduated from Fairfield University on May 20, received the Congregation B'Nai Israel Academic Achievement Award in Judaic Studies for her outstanding undergraduate work in the subject.

Carrington, a History major, recently added Judaic Studies to her already impressive list of academic minors, showing a particularly strong interest in the holocaust. She is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the international history honors society, and spent a semester at the Lorenzo di Medici Institute in Florence, Italy.

Carrington plans to work in Washington, D.C., either in the political arena or at one of Washington's many museums - ideally the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum where she has already submitted a job application.
