Stags to Support Pfriem Breast Care Center at Saturday Soccer Doubleheader

The Fairfield men’s and women’s soccer teams and Stags in the Stands will join forces this Saturday, September 19 as a part of the University’s 2015 Kick Out Cancer event. All proceeds from the day will benefit the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center.

The Stags will play a doubleheader on Lessing Field on Saturday. The women take the pitch first, hosting Niagara at 1 p.m., and looking to extend their winning streak to three matches. The contest is also Fairfield’s MAAC opener as the Stags look to continue their success in the conference.

The evening concludes with the first home match of 2015 for Fairfield men’s soccer. The Stags welcome Fordham to Lessing Field at 7 p.m., carrying a 1-1-3 record and a two-match unbeaten streak.

In between contests, Fairfield students will participate in the Kick Out Cancer 3 vs. 3 Soccer Tournament. The $5 entry fee for each participant will be donated to the Norma F. Pfriem Breast Care Center, which is a part of nearby Bridgeport Hospital.

In addition, both the Fairfield men’s and women’s soccer teams have adopted their own fundraising initiatives to benefit the Pfriem Center.
