The concert will include a variety of songs ranging from upbeat compositions such as “Sleigh Ride,” to Christian classics including, “Ave Maria,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful,” as well as the University’s re-scored alma mater.
The Fairfield University Glee Club presents its annual holiday concert, “A Glee-Filled Christmas,” on Friday, December 1 at 8 p.m., and Saturday, December 2 at 2 p.m., at Fairfield University's Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts.
Throughout the evening, the Glee Club will sing a variety of songs ranging from upbeat compositions such as “Sleigh Ride,” to Christian classics including, “Ave Maria,” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.” The concert, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M., will begin with the University’s alma mater, commissioned in honor of the 75th anniversary of Fairfield University. The night will also feature musical accompaniment including the piano, percussion, and brass, and includes members from multiple collaborations.
Also performing is Sweet Harmony, an all-female ensemble of chamber singers; The Bensonians, an all-male a cappella group; and the Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Maxwell. The Fairfield University Chamber Singers is the first mixed choir on campus. Founded in 1982, it is an ensemble of auditioned singers, with an advanced repertoire, both sacred and secular. The combined Fairfield University Choirs have presented concerts in churches, schools, recital and concert halls throughout Europe.

The Fairfield University Glee Club, founded in 1947, is the oldest club on the Fairfield University campus and numbers 100 undergraduate and graduate singers. This is Glee Club's 71st Anniversary season.
