Men's Soccer to meet Quinnipiac in MAAC First Round, Friday

Fairfield University men's soccer team, the nation's leader in shutouts, advanced to the he MAAC tournament semifinals on Wednesday with a 1-0 win over Rider University.

Jordan Ayris scored the game’s only goal in the 53rd minute and the Stags posted another shutout. Men’s Soccer travels to top seeded Quinnipiac University on Friday at 1:00pm with a bid in the MAAC Championship game at stake.

The 2014 women’s soccer team had a magical season tallying their 11th program appearance and second straight year in the MAAC Championship game falling just short of capturing the title.  The squad’s 14 victories are tied for third most in a single season and the team captured the program’s 250th program victory.  Individually, Head Coach Jim O’Brien became the program’s all-time winningest coach, finishing the season with 105 career wins at Fairfield. Michelle Kowalski, Karolyn Collins, and Anna Borea were named to the All-Tournament team.
