Doubleheader action on Conway Field starts at noon.
Fairfield University Lacrosse will begin the 2018 season tomorrow, Saturday, February 10, with a doubleheader on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. The men’s team will start their campaign at noon against Vermont followed by the women opening the slate at 3 p.m. against Holy Cross.
All fans are encouraged to wear red as the Stags look to “Red Out Rafferty” to celebrate the start of the 2018 lacrosse season. In addition, the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a free hot chocolate and a Fairfield Men's Lacrosse 2018 schedule poster.
Entering their 10th season led by Head Coach Andy Copelan, Fairfield Men’s Lacrosse will play another challenging schedule after sparring with a program-record six nationally-ranked teams in 2017. The Stags ended last spring on a high note with back-to-back home wins, including a 9-8 victory over #15 Towson – the eventual Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Champion and national semifinalist.
Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse looks to remain in the upper echelon of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in their third campaign under the direction of Head Coach Laura Field. Last spring, an eight-game winning streak propelled the Stags to a 12-win season and a trip to the MAAC Championship Game. Fairfield has reached the conference tournament in 12 consecutive seasons, highlighted by winning the 2009 and 2015 MAAC Championships to advance to the NCAA postseason.
