During the Annual Young Alumni Challenge, nearly 560 young alumni—from the classes of 2013 through 2022—raised money for the Fairfield Fund, the Multicultural Scholarship Fund, Athletics, Campus Ministry, and Academics.
Fairfield University’s young alumni, those from the classes of 2013 through 2022, showed their Stag spirit by participating in the 5th Annual Young Alumni Challenge. This year, exceeding the goal of 450 participants, more than 560 young alumni made gifts in support of Fairfield students, raising more than $24,000.
This year’s Challenge took place from Wednesday, Sept. 21 through Friday, Oct. 21, concluding at the Young Alumni Mug Night event—a University tradition during Alumni and Family Weekend where recent graduates venture back to Fairfield for a fun-filled Stags' night out at the Seagrape Café. The Challenge gave young alumni the opportunity to double their impact to do more with their gift: when a graduate of the last decade made a gift, 50 percent of their donation went to a fund or cause they were most passionate about and the other 50 percent went to the Fairfield Fund to support students’ most critical needs on campus.
“This year’s Young Alumni Challenge was a success,” said Marissa Fitzgerald ’20, manager of young alumni and student philanthropy for the Office of Annual Giving. “As a young alum myself it is great to see my fellow Stags step up and support Fairfield. These alumni are paying it forward, and the University is grateful for all they are making possible within our campus community and beyond.”
Young Alumni Challenge participants are making a far-reaching impact on scholarships and financial aid, academic excellence, campus spirituality, clubs and organizations, and so much more.
