On March 28, 2019, the Fairfield Awards Dinner, Fairfield’s flagship fundraising event for scholarship, will celebrate inclusive excellence at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.

Since 1988, this annual event has been a true celebration of Fairfield and has raised more than $18 million for the Alumni Multicultural Scholarship Fund and other endowed scholarships.

Continuing to recognize professional achievement, outstanding leadership, and volunteer commitment to Fairfield, this year’s Fairfield Awards Dinner will honor:

Sheila Kearney Davidson ’83
Executive Vice President and General Counsel, New York Life: Alumni Professional Achievement Award

As executive vice president, chief legal officer and general counsel of New York Life Insurance Company, Davidson leads the company’s legal operations and oversees its compliance, governance, and operational risk functions. Appointed to New York Life’s Executive Management Committee in January 2001, Davidson is also a member of the New York State Bar and serves on the boards of Fairfield University, Madison Square Park Conservancy, the Citizens Budget Commission and the Life Insurance Council of New York. Davidson graduated cum laude from Fairfield University with a BA.  She received her JD from George Washington University.

Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. ’73Alumni Service Award

Sullivan, president and CEO of Collette Vacations, is a Fairfield graduate with a degree in marketing and holds a degree from Harvard Business School’s Executive Owner/President Management program. He also chairs the Collette Foundation board, Collette’s global non-profit organization aimed at giving children in our global communities the opportunity to thrive through hunger and education initiatives. Sullivan has served on the Fairfield University Center for Faith and Public Life board since 2005, and is an engaged supporter of many non-profit causes including the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hospice, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and Amos House.

Shannon M. Harding, P’14, PhD
Associate Professor of Psychology
Distinguished Faculty/Administrator Award

Dr. Harding joined the psychology faculty at Fairfield University in 2003, and is currently an associate professor with teaching and research interests in behavioral neuroscience and neuroendocrinology.  In 2010, Dr. Harding was recognized as the College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Teacher of the Year, in part for her service learning course that includes a community partnership with a school in Bridgeport. Dr. Harding also served for eight years as a co-director and faculty mentor for BASE camp, a research and mentoring focused summer science program serving underrepresented high school girls.  Recently, Dr. Harding has shown leadership in curricular revision, serving on the Core Curriculum Task Force as part of the Fairfield University 2020 Strategic Plan, and as the Director of the Magis Core since 2017.

Anne Harris, P’18: Parent Leadership Award

Originally from Wilton, Conn., Harris has been an engaged parent leader who brings her breadth of corporate and higher education development career experience to the Fairfield community at large. Harris's passion for Fairfield University grew as she watched her daughter flourish at the Egan School. A current member of the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies advisory board, Harris also serves on the boards of Kiwanis Club of Waynesboro, Va. and the First Presbyterian Church. Harris has directed a leadership gift to the Egan School because of her strong belief in its mission, its commitment to hire and support the best faculty, and the School's cutting edge technology and progressive programs.
