Fairfield University Glee Club presents “Glee Hits the Big Screen,” May 2

The spring performance will feature songs from award-winning and fan-favorite movies.

On Wednesday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m . in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, the Fairfield University Glee Club will present its annual end-of-the-year concert, this year taking on the theme, “Glee Hits the Big Screen.” The concert will feature songs from award-winning movies, in performances by the Glee Club and the Fairfield University Chamber Singers, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M., with accompanist Beth Palmer.

Featured songs by the entire Glee Choir will include, “One Night Only” from Dreamgirls and “Wanna be Startin’ Somethin” from Michael Jackson’s This Is It . The evening will also feature a variety of solo performances including, “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia , sung by Gabriella Prignano ’19, and “Only Hope” from A Walk to Remember , sung by Jessica Jalbert ’18. Special performances by the University’s all-female a cappella group, Sweet Harmony , and all-male a cappella group, The Bensonians will complete the night.

Tickets for Fairfield students are $6 and general admission is $10. Tickets are available through the Quick Center Box Office at quickcenter.fairfield.edu or by calling 203-254-4010.

Founded in 1947, The Fairfield University Glee Club is the oldest club on the Fairfield University campus. The members share a deep love for music and a common desire to achieve excellence in it. The Glee Club has over 110 undergraduate and graduate singers. Their voices explore a wide variety of repertoire, experiencing diverse styles of music and enriching audiences with programming that challenges and inspires.
